We believe in finding the best fit for the role, our team, and for you. Our hiring process is thorough and transparent because we want to ensure we are bringing in individuals who are genuinely excited about our mission and will thrive in our environment. We take this process seriously because we believe the right person will thrive in our culture and help us continue making an impact in education.

First, ask yourself:

After reading the Job Description, "What It's Like Working With Us," and "Is This Role a Good Fit for You?" sections, do you feel this role is a good fit for you? If you’re excited by what we stand for and the culture we’ve described, we encourage you to proceed to the next steps.

Phase 1

  • Resume Submission: You will need at least 2 years of teaching experience. Instructional coaching experience is highly desired, and administrator experience is a plus.

  • Personal Statement: We’d like you to write at least one paragraph explaining why you want to work with us and why you believe you'd be a good fit. This is a chance for you to show us how your values align with ours.

Phase 2

If you move past Phase 1, here’s what comes next:

  • Core Values Exercise: You will choose one or two core values from a provided list that resonate most with you. There’s no right or wrong answer here—this is about understanding what drives you.

    • Reflection Writing: After choosing your core values, we’ll ask you to write two short paragraphs: 1) Describe the process of narrowing down the values. What did you think about when making your selection? 2) Explain why you selected the values you did. What’s meaningful to you about them?

    • Professional Learning Plan: You will submit an outline for a 60-minute training session for educators. This session should focus on how to improve student engagement. The outline should include: Objectives, The intended audience, Key takeaways for participants, A brief bullet-point list of the activities and learnings

    • Facilitation Video: Upload an up-to-5-minute video of you facilitating any part of the training you outlined. This can be presented to a real or imaginary audience. Pick any 5-minute segment that you would lead if you had the role, and present it as if you are actually teaching an audience.

Phase 3

After Phase 2, if you move forward, here’s what happens next:

  • Phone Call with a Member of Uncomplicate Ed: You’ll have a phone call with one of our Uncomplicate Ed team members who will ask you some reflective questions based on Phase 2. She will also explain what Phase 3 will entail.

    • Training Feedback Video: In Phase 3, you’ll be asked to watch a short video of someone leading a training session. You’ll then record a video where you provide feedback to the facilitator. We want to hear how you would approach the situation differently, sharing constructive insights on how the session could be improved.

Final Phase

The final phase includes a brief phone call with another member of the Uncomplicate Ed team. This call will explain what’s involved in the last step:

  • 10-Minute Presentation: You will prepare a 10-minute presentation using Canva. You can choose any topic and audience that you feel comfortable presenting to.

  • Live Virtual Presentation: You will present live virtually to the Uncomplicate Ed leadership team.

  • Reflection: After your presentation, you’ll have time to reflect on how it went and share your insights with us.

  • Q&A: The remainder of the time will be a more typical question-and-answer style, where we’ll ask you a few questions about your experiences and approach. You will also have space to ask any lingering questions.
